Attention Quarantine Service

This mailing contains packets of seeds belonging to the Plant Genus "Lilium", and consisting of either true species or hybrids of the species. It is my understanding that with one or two exceptions of newly discovered species that none of the seeds in any of the horticultural Divisions of genus "Lilium" is prohibited from entering your country.

All seed contained in these packets has been cleaned and candled by the donor, Ray McNamara. As such, it is free from any extraneous material such as seeds of other plants or even material from the seed capsule in which it was contained. Seeds are not considered to be a carrier of any disease or virus and as such are the approved means of raising horticultural clean stock.

For your convenience, the information given below describes which species the hybrid seeds are derived from.

The Asiatic Hybrids - Division I

Hybrids from L. canadense, L.grayi, L. michauxii, L. michiganense and L. superbum are possible but rarely seen.

The Oriental Hybrids - Division VII

Consists of crosses involving Lilium auratum, L. speciosum, L. leucanthum, L.henryi, L. regale, L. sargentiae, L. longiflorum, and L. martagon. Also includes "interdivisional crosses" between the hybrids: Div II x Div I, Div V x Div I, Div I x Div VI and Div VI x Div VII (therefore involving the species contained in those divisions).
